Juan José Espinal

Mr. Espinal is the Executive Director of the Centro para el Desarrollo Agropecuario y Forestal (Center for Agricultural and Forestry Development) (CEDAF), a non-governmental private organization that promotes sustainable development in the agricultural and forestry sector in the Dominican Republic.
He is the former Deputy Minister of Sectoral Planning at the Ministry of Agriculture and former Director of the Department of Agricultural Economics. He has specialized in strategic planning and economic development, training, monitoring and evaluation of projects, agricultural policy and trade; as well as commercial and international negotiations.
His international experience includes the Oficina en República Dominicana del Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (Office of the Dominican Republic of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture) (IICA) where he worked as a local specialist in Trade and Agrobusiness Development.
In the private sector, he worked for the firm Consultoria Agrohorti, S.A. Mr. Espinal has also worked as a consultant and researcher for various institutions including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Consejo Nacional de Competitividad en República Dominicana (National Competitiveness Council in the Dominican Republic).
