Ms. Heinsen is an expert in the environmental field, particularly in the area of the management of solid waste. She is dedicated to the protection and conservation of natural resources through investigation and education regarding the correct management of solid wastes, with the application of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recicle) and Basura Cero (Zero Garbage) .
Since 2004, Ms. Heinsen has been the Director of the 3Rs Program and the Project Coordinator for the Centro para el Desarrollo Agropecuario y Forestal, Inc. (CEDAF). Also, since 2010, she has served as the Coordinator of the RED3Rs of the Dominican Republic, a public/private entity in collaboration with the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation (JICA). In 2009, Ms. Heinsen was the Coordinator of the Dominican Delegation to the United Nations Forum on Forests (FNUB). She served as the Director of the National Zoo of the Dominican Republic (Zoodom) in 2008.
