Biography:

Ms. Cohen is an attorney, diplomat, communicator and polyglot. She is an expert in Economic Competition Law, Multilaterals, Politics and International Cooperation. Her experience has centered in the areas of industrial development, mercantile law, energy and the fight against corruption and organized crime.

Her diplomatic career has included a relevant role as Permanent Alternate Representative Ambassador before the United Nations and International Organizations based in Vienna, Austria; and Permanent Delegate Representative before the Organization of United Nations for Industrial Development and the United Nations Commission for Mercantile Law.

Ms. Cohen was the Director of the Department of Multilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Relations and the Head of the Regional Initiative for a Culture of Peace Program of the United Nations Development Program.

During her years in the journalism field she worked in written press, radio and television. She is a public servant who is committed to the goal of creating a better Dominican Republic.

Professional Affiliations and/or Academic Background in Field

Ms. Cohen has a Masters in International Relations, International Law and Human Rights. She is a graduate of the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO), the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and Oxford University in the United Kingdom.

She has carried out specialized studies at the National Defense University of the United States in Washington, D.C.; the University of Strasbourg in France; and the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain. Ms. Cohen was a scholarship recipient of various international cooperation agencies, and has received awards and recognitions at both the national and international level.
