Marcela Valdez Komatsudani

Ms. Valdez Komatsudani is the current President of the International Women’s Club, Inc. (IWC), a Dominican non-profit organization that was founded over 15 years ago by a group of English speaking women who wanted to provide a meeting place and social network for international women living in the Dominican Republic. Prior to serving as its President, Ms. Valdez Komatsudani was the IWC’s Charities Director. With over 150 members, the IWC serves a wide range of charitable organizations throughout the country, through donations and volunteer service. As Charities Director, Ms. Valdez Komatsudani was responsible for overseeing the club’s volunteer network, supervising the IWC’s donations program and serving as the club’s liaison with all of the charitable organizations that it supports.

Prior to moving to the Dominican Republic, Ms. Valdez Komatsudani was the Vice President of the Latin American Women Association in Moscow, which focuses on promoting programs benefiting children and youth. She worked in the Bank for International Settlements of Switzerland and in various foundations in Peru and the United States.
