Fundación Entre Nosotros Y Mañana Los Niños (Fundación ENED)

In the month of October of the year 2001, Jaclyn Krieg, with her own funds, opened the first house to receive boys from the streets of Boca Chica, near Santo Domingo. Several years later a second house opened, which allowed more than 30 boys to be taken in. To assure its sustainability, Jacklyn Krieg founded Fundación ENED (Entre Nosotros y Mañana Los Niños) in 2002. This united front brings together private groups, associations, companies and clubs to finance the two houses by means of sponsorships and donations. However, additional funding is constantly sought to cover the maintenance and operation costs of the two houses.

We want to give the boys living in our Project the opportunity to freely choose their future and offer them a home where they can receive the basic necessities for their development: food, clothes, lodging and above all love, health and education.

Mission/Vision

Mission: We are a stable and safe home that provides a family setting in which the rights of children, adolescents and youth are respected, strengthening their individuals abilities so tat they can be agents of their own development.

Vision: To be an organization where boys and youth develop their own potential to construct a fair society in which justice and equality are promoted.

Primary Programs and Projects

PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS:

1. Academic enrollment at the primary, secondary and high school levels for boys living in the home and others from the community.

2. Extracurricular and technical courses for the boys living in the home and others from the community, that are organized either within the foundation or in other institutions which provide professional technical training.

3. Homework lab strengthening academics and helping the boys stay at grade level.

4. Cultural and recreational activities for the boys living in the home and others from the community.

5. Sports activity for the boys living in the home: baseball, surging, capoeira and swimming.

ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS:

1. End of the Year Christmas Party: This is our Christmas get-together that we celebrate every December to which we invite the families of the boys living in our home, when possible.

2. Employee Integration Activity: this is the outing which we celebrate with our employees as a way of bringing them together and fomenting team work among our collaborators in an environment outside the home.

3. End of the Years Academic Awards: every July we provide a small gift to each boy who has succeeded in receiving academic honors at the end of the academic year.

4. Summer Camp: At the end of July we celebrate a three-day long summer camp into which we integrate members from all three of our projects: Home 1, Home 2, and External Members. In this activity we play games and have competitions, fostering team spirit and fomenting our values, goals and abilities. At the end of each competition we award a symbolic prize to each competitor or participant. Next year we would like to extend the camp and have it last for a full week, and perhaps include children from the community.
