Training for gender equality is a transformative process that has as its goal the provision of knowledge, techniques and tools to develop habits, changes in attitude and behavior. It is a continual process for the long term that requires political will and the commitment of all parties to the goal of creating an inclusive, conscientious and competent society to promote gender equality.

It is a strategy for carrying out individual and collective transformation towards gender equality through consciousness building, the learning of empowerment, and the construction of knowledge and the development of habits. Training helps women and men acquire skills, knowledge, and gender habits that are necessary for the advance of gender equality in daily life and in the work place.
